Manesh Kumar
I’m a journalist with a masters degree in Mass Communication from the University of Sindh. I have ten years experience as a working journalist. Currently, Im associated with daily Pahenji Akhbar as a magazine editor. My specialism includes; human rights, social and religious harmony, gender rights, women empowerment, youth activism, travel, and history. My written articles and stories have been published in a range of print and online publications including Newsline, Dawn, the Express Tribune and The Friday Times, Dawnnews, Humsub and Minority Voices, Sindh Express, and Pahenji Akhbar. I have reported stories in English, Urdu, and Sindhi. Besides this, I have also translated journalistic and literary works from English to Urdu and Sindhi languages. I proactively have worked to discover a positive Pakistan. In this regard, I have written various stories which prove Pakistan a country full of people dedicated to peace and humanity, who work for better and developed Pakistan. Such as how rural women and other gender minorities are mainstreamed in the political process. I have brought in limelight various unexplored individuals whose role in nurturing diversities and democracies at different community-level societies have remained significant. For instance, Sheedi community’s women who became parliamentarian in the first time of Pakistan’s history, a story of a transgender, etc. running canteen in university, Hindu Heroes of Pakistan, those minority individuals who have sacrificed their lives in making pluralistic and peaceful Pakistan. I was born and brought up in Thar.
