Muhammad Ahmad
I am Muhammad Ahmad and I am about to graduate in International Relations having interest in Migration Studies, Refugee Studies, and Human Rights. I have been studying on scholarship throughout my undergraduate career. Furthermore, I have been actively participating in the extra-curricular activities being involved in the UCP student bodies and societies. Currently, I am serving the role of Editor at the Perceptions Magazine and Financial Secretary of Voltaire Society of my university. Moreover, I am currently working with a couple of NGOs such as “EOTO foundation” that is working for educational causes and “Youth Media Network” that is working to equip the youth of Pakistan with digital skills. These experiences, without any doubt, have given me a broad exposure and added value to my life. My personality involves extraversion. I have a kind of extroverted personality which helps me be friendly and helpful towards others. Therefore, I feel comfortable making friendships and connections virtually as well as physically. I believe in the power of social networking as it is a sort of value addition to your life and personal development. The weaknesses I pose is I am not self-disciplined as I should have to be and I lack persistence in my activities. Furthermore, I am more agreeable to others so I have this sort of challenging situation when I have to contradict or challenge another friend. But the positive sign of these weaknesses are that I have recognised them and I am working on it continuously and persistently to overcome them as soon as possible. Another characteristic I would like to add is that I am empathetic towards others and I am open to listen to their arguments, their stance, and their point-of-views quite vividly. After listening to them, I just challenge their arguments but never create a grudge with the other person. I am very open to listen to those arguments that are contradictory to my ideology and my beliefs and I challenge them on the basis of their rationale to back their arguments and if I find a poor rationale, I give them my rationale of my beliefs and ideology in order to convince them that they are wrong. Besides this, I have also experienced working in the corporate sector. I have provided my services as a content writer to multiple local companies for the last 3 years. Furthermore, I have worked with an HR company as a Director of Corporate Partnerships Research where I have this role of searching and engaging global companies i.e. Huawei, Microsoft, IBM, and Google etc. for their partner programs. These experiences have led me to gain the exposure of my corporate sector and help me build skills for my professional life. My future aspiration is to build my expertise in the area of Educational development of Refugees, Migrants, and underprivileged individuals. I am deeply passionate to address these global problems and come up with a global solution through leveraging my social network and engaging with the academia and policy sector to address these challenges. I believe I would definitely be able to make an impact in this area of field and build a strong network that will work to serve this cause as well.
