Muhammad Khan
I have completed a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Gyeongsang National University GNU, South Korea in 2020. My research and academic experience are focused on Molecular Neurobiology of neurodegenerative disorders and brain metabolic disorders. During my post-doc, I have worked on H9C2 cardio myoblast, BV2, HT22 etc cells and analyzed different pathways. I have explored how mitofilin Mic60, the inner mitochondrial protein dysregulation, leads to Parkinson related pathology. I published several research articles as first and co-author in well-known reputable journals CV attached. I have been awarded the prestigious “Young Pioneer Researcher Award” for outstanding research performance. Over the past 10 years, I have worked on the cellular and molecular pathways involved in neurological disorders, especially in neurodegeneration AD, brain injury, stroke, and metabolic disorders-induced proteinopathies Aβ induced glial over activation & neuroinflammation-mediated oxidative stress, apoptosis, the decline in cognitive and learning behavior, and memory impairments. I also investigated the differentially expressed neuropathological conditions. I have applied various in-vivo transgenic, stereotaxic, knockin & knockdown mice and rat models and in-vitro approaches neuronal, microglial and astrocyte cell lines, and primary cortical and hippocampal cells to validate some of the novel and scientific research findings. Besides my research background, I also have professional experience in mentoring my follow-up MS graduate student’s projects. In addition, I can work independently or as part of an academic and research team member. I was part of multiple projects/teams in our Lab. I can manage and utilize the available resources and facilities and seek solutions to problems with a more appropriate scientific and philosophical approach. I want to design and avail myself of independent projects to deal with shortcomings in research funding and resource availability. My theoretical, latest research literature and research experience in Neuroscience encouraged me to seek research employment at an advanced research-oriented place where I can implement my knowledge and skills to deliver quality outputs. I want to pursue a career in research after my degree, as I believe we need to gain a clearer picture of neurodegeneration AD and other metabolic disorders. My career goal is to be an independent principal investigator PI who can conduct research that will improve human health. I believe my keen research motivation and enthusiasm will positively contribute to your esteemed research group. Thank you for taking the time to review my application. I am looking forward to your positive response.
