Muhammad Zahid Iqbal Malik
Presently I am working as Administration & Finance Officer in LoGo-II GIZ an international German organization, Lahore. I possess fourteen years of work experience out of which ten years, administration, finance and operations have been my main domain. In my current job some other tasks also include acting as Security Focal Point for Lahore region for our project, procurement at country office level, procurement at project level as deputy, event management & logistics as deputy and Onsite asset management as deputy. Kindly note that I have done two diplomas from PIM, Lahore Procurement & Supply Chain Management Industrial Relations & Labor Laws. Last but not least in this regard is that I have attended trainings on Policy against sexual harassment for staff members and also been part of ToT for the subject. Being in GIZ, I have good experience of GIZ’s Processes & Rules PuR. Working with GIZ for many years with good track record is an asset for me. I would also like to share that when I was given task of finance officer, it was start of Covid-19 and I learnt many of the things online and have been managing finance work well since then. Moreover, being administration and finance officer I had to look after the office business during Covid-19 peak time and strict lockdowns. I feel that I was able to manage things well during that time period even when many of the colleagues were unable to reach office. It was very much appreciated by my supervisor in annual staff assessment. After this I want to share about another important task which was shifting of the office. As it was end of the year, so I had to visit office during holidays of Dec, 2021 so that everything is done smoothly. Please consider that the whole amount of security deposit was paid back by landlord without any deduction. This was also appreciated by my supervisor in staff assessment this year. I would also like to share that during the absence of RRMA Lahore, our RMO had to manage our region from Islamabad. I tried my best to support them and keep updated. It was also appreciated by the relevant staff member from RMO team. Let me share that from Jan 2017 to Dec 2019, I have been working as senior administration and finance officer which was a Band 5 position. Later Band 5 positions were abolished at Lahore and Peshawar regions, so from Jan 2020 we started working as administration and finance officer which was Band 4 position. My experience has also revealed that effective co-ordination, timely communication and good cooperation with all relevant departments produce good results. I must share that effective and regular internal and external audits keep the team members up to date and fully aware of rules and policies of an organization. Moreover, it also prompts them to take corrective measures timely. As a result, the organization is always on track. I do believe that ambitious goals are very good source of learning new lessons. These goals also help us keep learning continuously. That is the reason I am seeing my better future through this challenging job.
