Shahzad Ali Khan
My name is Dr Shahzad Ali Khan I a medical graduate of King Edward Medical College Lahore of 1991. After MBBS I did Masters in Business Administration MBA with Majors in Finance and MS in Public Health from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad. I am one of few medical doctors in Pakistan with a PhD in Management Sciences. I also holds Fellowship of “The Royal Society for Public Health” London UK. I have has over 27 years of Public health experience ranging from primary care level to tertiary care health facilities. His professional expertise varies from Health Systems, Health Economics and Healthcare Financing, hospital administration, health policy, strategic planning in Health and Nutrition, health sector reforms, MNCH, Reproductive health, and capacity building of health workforce. He worked for several international & national organizations; secured grants from WHO, USAID, World Bank, UNICEF, UNFPA, GiZ, UNAIDS, IOM, RAF, TRF, AKF, AKHSP and GFATM etc. I have a vast teaching and research experience both at undergraduate and postgraduate level; in the field of Health Systems, Health Financing, Hospital management, Nutrition and MNCH, Health Promotion, Health Policy Planning at national and international level. I have been involved and has contributed in development of several national, international strategies, polices, working papers, training manuals and policy paper. He drafted the National Health Vision 2016-25 of Pakistan. My research work is extensively disseminated through more than 50 peer reviewed publications in the national and international journals. I am currently Head of Department of Health Management at Health Services Academy Islamabad. I am a Faculty and Member Board of Studies at Pakistan Institute of Development Economics; Course Director of Health Financing at Aga Khan University Karachi, Faculty for Health Economics and Financial Management at Armed Forces Postgraduate Medical Institute AFPGMI Rawalpindi; Member of Board of Studies for Health Informatics at COMSATS; Member Board of PhD Public Health at Khyber Medical University Peshawar, Faculty of Project Management at Bahria University Islamabad; Faculty of Health Management at University of Health Sciences Lahore.
