Largely owing to my father’s political background, a significant part of my childhood involved avidly listening to heated political discussions centered around current societal issues. This played a great role in my pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. As a political science student, I had the opportunity to take on Public Policy as a core subject where I pondered over societal issues such as the role of civil servants in facilitating policy implementation, economics of healthcare and educational reform. This fuelled my interest and to refine this interest and broaden my knowledge of the subject, I did my Master’s in Public Policy from Kings College London. To gain practical experience, I have undertaken a variety of internships and workshops. I worked as a social intern to solve the issues of Turkish youth and also completed Active Citizenship course by British council where I was granted the opportunity to conduct and present a social action project on child abuse in Pakistan, a subject considered a taboo by society. Lately, I have worked with “The Stabilization Network” as a research consultant in London which provided me with an opportunity to involve closely with the contribution of research in the policy making apparatus. It also enabled me to understand the correlation of the policy theories with the real policy working in practice. In this case, it is the understanding of Policy-based Evidence. Accordingly, I was able to identify the spheres of policy making process where the TSN evidence would potentially be used by the decision makers. From working for Turkish youth, granting the wishes of thalassemia patients, creating awareness for the child sexual abuse, a tabooed subject in Pakistan and many other issues, I’ve always been involved in making a difference within my capacity. My Qualification, experience and committed towards bringing change are highly relevant to the commitment of KLM. I am a hard-working, focused individual and I hope that by undertaking a position in the government department, I will not only nurture as a productive individual but also contribute to the growth of the department and towards the higher interest of the country. I hope to hear from you soon
