Hafiz Baseer Khan
After completing B.S. in Environmental Sciences from University of Karachi in 2013, the author started his career as an environmental consultant with a reputable Karachi based international environmental consultancy M/s Global Environmental Management Services GEMS. Till date the author has conducted number of Environmental Audits and Environmental & Social Impact Assessment studies across Pakistan for private and government sector projects. The author has also worked with international donor agencies like World Bank on environmental and social assessments of donor funded projects and NGOs. Currently the author is deputed by GEMS as an independent environmental consultant on Thar Coal & Power Project in Thar Coal Fields Block-II Tharparkar Sindh, a project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC. The author is fully aware of the pertaining environmental problems of the country and the globe, especially climate change. He is also aware of the national and global conservation policies and laws as well as the use of biological resources in a sustainable way to preserve, conserve and restore the natural environment. He has been involved in many awareness and capacity building programmes and has experience in facilitation and conducting of trainings in the field of environment, health and safety EHS. The future work of author is focused towards mass awareness, poverty alleviation through sustainable solutions with involvement of the local communities/stakeholders and institutional development/capacity building. The author has good research, analytically and problem solving skills, particularly the ability to resolve the conflicting issues. He loves to work in a multicultural environment and always respect culture, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity.
