Electrical Design Sub Engineer Switchgear Design Department Duties and responsibilities • To prepare General Arrangements Drawings according to BOQ. • To prepare Fabrication according to Arrangements Drawings. • To prepare complete submittal that includes mainly BOQ, single line diagram and schematic diagram for client approval. • To check Mechanical drawings and issue them to switchgear workshops. • And any other job assigned by the management or senior manager. Electrical Estimation Sub Engineer June 2018 to till Duties and responsibilities • Cost estimation, tender working and compliance of switchgear panel boards, power and distribution transformer, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, soft stators, power factor improvement, protection relays, batteries, ATS, synchronizing, and bus ways. • Study/Review of tender documents, Scope of work, Drawings, BOQ, Specifications, client’s requirements and etc. from the tender documents for proper estimating work. • Preparing technical queries for ambiguities in drawing, specifications and BOQ. • Coordination with quantity surveyors and material take off when required. • Follow up with the supplier/ sub contactor to obtain quotation in time, clarify to all their queries and meeting with the sub contactor when required. • Preparing price comparison sheet for each panels and final cost summary. • Preparing BOQ unit prices as per tender BOQ format and filling. • Pricing material and labor cost of each BOQ item in the price comparison sheets by using the quotation and a pre-determined production rate.
