Abid Hussain
I have almost completed my M.Phil. Degree in Mass Communication with good grades. I have more than five years work experience including the research on political issues, job of visiting lecture at Minhaj University, and different jobs as media professional in electronic and print media. At university level, I taught various course of Mass Communication to Master Degree classes including courses on gender issues. As media professional, I remained a part of leading media groups, i.e. Daily Nawa-i-Waqt, Daily Pakistan and Daily Express. During my jobs, I used to prepare and edit media reports, press releases, promotional and advertisement contents, stories and news contents. Media and gender issues are strongly interlinked because media is one of the main determinants of women empowerment. Besides above, I also conducted voluntary research on media campaigns with the support of my elder brother Dr. Abid Hussain. We investigated the effect of media tools/campaigns on women empowerment and energy conservation attitude of the people. Our two research papers are in final stages of preparation. Soon these will be submitted to international ISI journals.
