ROLES, RESPONCIBILITIES AND WORKING SKILLS AS A SAFETY SUPERVISOR: • Check work permit, method statement and JSA of the entire task within the area of responsibility and ensure its ground implementation. • Attend the daily Toolbox meeting conducted by the various front line supervisors and input the knowledge in the meeting as required for improvement. • Observe the task closely to see that only safe work methods are in operation. • Participate in raising the safety observation cards for all positive and negative observations. • Furnish safety tips to the employees working in the area. Correct unsafe acts and conditions. • Ensure all the high hazard areas are barricaded and identified through displaying the signboards. • Share learning point of the recent incidents with the site employees to improve the safety performance and to avoid such repeated incidents in future. • Check the competency log of the designated competent persons and ensure they are approved for the particular task. • Identify the new area of training based on the ongoing behaviour of the site personnel. • Check for only approved and certified equipments are deputed for the task. • Check for the 100% compliance of selected PPE. • Intervene the individual or crew upon any substandard practice. • Ensure that proper housekeeping is being observed. • Acting as fire warden in case of any fire incident and evacuating the workforce prior to extinguishing that fire (if possible). • Acting as Evacuation Warden in ERP Drills & emergencies, instructing, guiding and helping the workforce in safe evacuation and subsequent gathering at assembly point under the guidance of HSE Supervisor. • Ensure that all the safety precautions are taken before entering into confined space. • Providing immediate First aid to anyone injured in his area. • Report all unsafe acts / conditions & near miss incident fro trend analysis. • Encouraging workforce to report any potential HSE hazard and suggestions. • Advise work force on waste management & ensure proper segregation of waste. • Take ownership of company’s QHSE Policy, Core & Operating Values, and ensure their implementation.
