My name is Doleh Khan, and I am from Umerkot, Sindh, Pakistan. I am an experienced professional with a Bachelors degree in Gender Studies and a Masters degree in Social Science, specializing in Gender Studies. With a strong background in the development sector, particularly in gender-related work, I have dedicated my career to promoting womens rights and empowerment. This project aims to strengthen womens knowledge of acquiring and protecting their legal and marital property through research and community engagement. Additionally, it seeks to support womens increased agency by facilitating access, acquisition, and protection of their legal property. Furthermore, the project aims to enable discourse and advocacy with key justice-sector actors on womens property rights to ensure informed policy and decision-making. To effectively contribute to this project, I possess a strong understanding of legal and societal issues related to womens legal and marital property rights. I have a proven track record in project management, monitoring and evaluation, as well as experience in emergencies, food security and livelihood, capacity building, education, and project operations. My expertise in advocacy strategies and policy development, along with my knowledge of sustainable food security approaches, makes me well-equipped to navigate the complexities of implementing and managing projects in Sindh, Pakistan. Having worked with diverse communities, including pastoral and farming communities, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of community development and the socio-political landscape of the region. I am fluent in English, Urdu, and my mother tongue Sindhi, enabling effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders at various levels. In terms of educational qualifications, I hold a Masters degree in Social Science Hons with a focus on Gender Studies from the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan. Additionally, I have a diploma in Information Technology from the Sindh Board of Technical Education, Karachi. My core competencies include strong facilitation and capacity-building skills, effective coordination and communication abilities, and a deep understanding of community development. I am a dependable and self-motivated individual with proven management skills, situational analysis expertise, and problem-solving capabilities. I am flexible and adaptable, even in challenging conditions, and possess a solid grasp of logical frameworks and the theory of change. Furthermore, I bring a range of valuable skills to the table, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, work under pressure and meet deadlines, and troubleshoot and problem solve effectively. In terms of professional experience, I have worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at SAMI Foundation, where I supported COVID and flood projects in Umerkot. I also served as a Senior Social Mobilizer Officer at HANDS Pakistan, coordinating housing initiatives for flood-affected individuals. Furthermore, I worked as a Public Youth Volunteer and Public Social Mobilizer at Community World Service Asia, engaging in educational initiatives and promoting citizen education and peace initiatives. Additionally, I gained research experience as a Gender Studies Researcher at the Institute of Gender Studies, University of Sindh, Pakistan. With my passion for womens rights and empowerment, combined with my extensive experience and diverse skill set, I am confident in my ability to contribute significantly to this project and drive positive change in the realm of womens property rights.
