Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed – Soil Scientist | Agriculture Specialist | Community Development Professional I am Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed from Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan, holding a PhD in Soil Science/Agriculture. My professional journey spans diverse roles focused on sustainable agriculture, farmer education and crop productivity enhancement. I began as a Farmer Trainee at Star Farm Private Limited, where I trained farming communities on best crop management practices, particularly in cotton, collected field data and supported yield improvement through tailored guidance and harvest planning. Later, as Area Leader for Kanzo Ag Evyol Group, I engaged with farmers and market dealers to promote agricultural inputs, increase product awareness and achieve sales targets through relationship-based field outreach. Subsequently, I served as Farm Manager for FMC Pakistan Parvaaz Project - Cotton, where I managed registered smallholder farmers by monitoring crops, collecting data, preparing reports and fostering sustainable cotton production to enhance livelihoods and the national economy. Most recently, I worked as a Producer Unit Manager at CABI, Haroonabad, where I facilitated cotton value chain activities, provided technical services to producers and strengthened field-level engagement. Currently, I am serving as an IPFP Fellow since August 2024, contributing to agricultural education and research, mentoring students and developing field-oriented projects to bridge academic knowledge with practical farming innovations.
