Mohammad Waleed Ikram
Respected Madam/Sir, I have about 12 years of work experience in public health within emergency & development settings and have been working in Syria & Lebanon since 2008. During this time, I have assumed progressively higher levels of responsibility while working with programs like primary & secondary health care, reproductive health, HIV, SGBV, mental health/psycho-social, and Early Childhood Development for the disabled. I am currently working with International Federation of Red Cross in Lebanon as Regional Health Delegate - MENA region. I am responsible for deliberating specific technical and operational competencies to ensure that humanitarian projects across the region are designed and implemented in accordance with established standards and best practices. I also advice regional and country offices on the prioritization of human, financial and technical resources in the relevant technical field. I am responsible for strategic planning & development pertaining to the organizational flagships and situational needs and capacity building of national societies across the region. I work as an Enabler to the regional and country office to understand and make use of available technical tools and methodologies and promote harmonization across regions and countries by monitoring use of standards and tools. I work closely with thematic Coordinator in Programme Support Team/ DRM Unit at the National Office HQ and other technically competent colleagues in the same discipline in other countries and regions. I also train and coach Host National Society teams in thematic frameworks and relevant technical standards and support the operationalization of those standards. I have been involved with the development of health strategies and guidelines, alignment of country programs to regional and global organizational strategic frameworks, and national level capacity building within the public and private sector across the humanitarian-development continuum. I have also been extensively involved with evidence based advocacy on sexual and reproductive health & rights SRHR and HIV/AIDS within the context of Syrian refugee crisis. Moreover, my work included developing and follow up with implementation of country work plans with MoPH and implementing partners, including medical procurement for MoPH, community based outreach programs and health services delivery at primary and secondary care level. My work experiences also entail staff management expat and local, financial and logistics management and some of my personal characteristics support me to fulfill the necessary tasks. I am skilled manager, a hard worker, am able to negotiate and collaborate with the different stakeholders and able to take decisions independently. I am highly proactive, motivated team player, culturally sensitive and willing to apply and share my knowledge, enthusiasm and skills. I am a continuous learner and a thoughtful innovator. I have full working proficiency in English language and fair command on Arabic language speaking, reading and writing. I am a Pakistani national so can speak Urdu, Pashto and Punjabi/Hindko fluently.
