He brings more than 8 years of experience in social and resettlement studies in the power, irrigation and agriculture sectors in Pakistan and has completed numerous resettlement action plans, prepared external monitoring reports and supervised the implementation of different projects. Mr. Asad has worked on a number of projects funded by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank ADB, Norwegian Embassy NE, European EU, International Finance Corporation IFC United States Agency for International Development USAID, French Agency for Development AFD, and also the private sector. He worked as a sociologist with PAIMAN Alumni Trust to build the capacity of the communities in inclusive peace building, sensitizing communities and government departments to the role of civil society especially women and youth. Mr. Asad has also worked as a Research Assistant and trainer with the International Water Management Institution IWMI to identify the risks and benefits associated with the use of wastewater in urban and peri-urban fodder and vegetable cropping systems in India and Pakistan. He has also worked with Provincial Disaster Management Authority PDMA to provide technical assistance in sustainable risk mitigation and response to increase resilience to disasters on “Watan Card” project. Recently Mr. Asad has developed Resettlement Action Plans and Contributed in environmental and social impact assessments ESIA of the Kohala Hyower Project, Balakot Hyower Project, Azad Pattan Hyower Project and the Mahl Hyower Project. He has prepared audit reports for resettlement activities resulting from the construction of the Gulpur Hyower Project for the ADB and IFC, and the Mangla Dam Raising Project for IFD.
