I optimized the transesterification process of ethylene carbonate and methanol for the production of dimethyl carbonate using the DWSIM simulator. In my senior year, I have successfully lead my final year project and synthesized Ionic liquid functionalized layered double hydroxides for the removal of heavy metal. I have also written a first-author review article and collaborated on a research article submitted to journals for publications that evidenced my critical thinking and research skills. Currently, I am working as a chemical research assistant at the Centre for intelligent systems and networks research CISNR, synthesizing a molecularly imprinted polymer-based sensor for the real-time portable detection of E. coli in drinking water. I have the ability to optimize, control, and run the chemical plant fluently, as well as make innovative contributions.
