Shahnaz Mazhar
I have more than fifteen years of field and management experience in the non-profit sector with numerous national and international organizations in Pakistan; serving in various capacities as Program Manager, Gender Coordinator, Community Development and Education Specialist. I had also shoulder the responsibility of the Harassment at Workplace Act. 2010 and rollout of Child Protection Policy CPP and its implementation. Project Management remained one of the most important part of my job’s descriptions in most of my carrier. I have good understanding of result oriented management concepts and issues in development context, Gender parity and have hands on experience to develop, supervise and implement humanitarian and emergency interventions. While working on managerial positions in different international organizations, I was involved in Strategy development, designing activities, monitoring of Partner’s deliverables and progress against the set indicators in Logical Framework. Moreover I was responsible to identify partner’s needs for enhancing staff capacities, compile case studies, best practices and finalize field reports for submission to donors. I was also involved in partner’s progress review and planning for next assignments. I am Master of Science in Sociology and have completed B.Ed. I started my career with Swiss funded project from Kalam valley of Swat district. I have worked in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Hazara Zone and Kohat, FATA and Baluchistan provinces. I have worked in almost all rural, Sami urban and urban regions of Pakistan. Being worked in different area I am familiar with different cultures and languages. My achievements in these organizations were mainly community development keeping in mind the gender issue through mobilization process and enhancing livelihood skills e.g. formation of committees, entrepreneurship development, establishment of formal and non-formal schools with special focus on Girls education, ECD centers, microfinance, Health & Hygiene, Horticulture, Small grants and devise strategies for different program components, develop communication and Advocacy materials. I am one of the PRA user and using it from up to two decade. I have participated in more than 50 training workshops and imparted more than 100 trainings in different disciplines to staff and stakeholders. I have been to Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nepal, and Turkey Istanbul to participate in trainings on PRA, Gender and on exposure visits. Also done Two weeks consultancy for Central Asia Health System Strengthening CAHSS Assessment I have gone through the detailed TORs and I am confident that I have all required and relevant experience. I have proven abilities to work on new initiatives or as part of a team.
