Syed Oshaid Akhtar
Oshaid’s experience span over around twenty 24-yrs in the field of Treasury and Investments ranging from portfolio management -Money Markets, Fixed Income Securities, Foreign Exchange and Capital Markets. Oshaid is well-versed in Reuters Dealing System, Bloomberg System for Risk Management and Derivative’s pricing also a strong hand/practice in banking systems i.e. BANK SMART and PIBAS. He has also attended many seminars and workshops on Treasury & Risk Management and gives presentation as a guest speaker on SME Sectors in Pakistan and Financial Development & economic growth in the different universities. At the eve of his career at First Unicorn International UAE, Company of First American Discount Corporation, he begun from FOREX and played in different currencies and added 25-30% in terms of profitability in the total profit of the company. In 1996, he took as a challenge, by chosen to serve Indus Bank Limited as a Senior Dealer. In year 2000 the Chairman of Saudi Pak Commercial Bank Limited SPCBL offered Oshaid for the important assignment as Head of Money Market Desk. He successfully runs it’s treasury at an executive position, he served Saudi Pak Commercial Bank Ltd SAPICO group around four and half years. Oshaid joined SME Bank Limited www.smebank.org, the first SME Bank in Pakistan doing specialized banking to promote SME Sectors in Pakistan in July 5th 2004. He is a part of the top management of SMEBL in the position of Country Treasurer. Heading treasury at a strategic level and reporting to the President & CEO of the bank. By qualification, Oshaid has done MBA in Banking & Finance and MBA in Marketing. Being a good marketer, he has proactive and learned experience of Business Development as well. He is also pursuing CIMA UK for professional devastation which is on final stage. He enjoys spending time with his family, socializing, playing Cricket, badminton and reading books of his field of interest.
