My final year project was based entirely on power electronics, and I led the project. The project involved a solid-state transformer-based electric vehicle charger. The key feature of this charger was its high-frequency bidirectional capability supporting both V2G and G2V modes controlled through a PWM controller. The focus areas were fast charging, bidirectional operation, a compact footprint, and ease of use for residential charging. I successfully implemented and tested the simulation model. The hardware assembly was also completed; however, due to mismatches and the unavailability of accurate specifications for the high-frequency transformer HFT, it did not achieve the desired ratings. I am eager to work in the field of power electronics and highly motivated to contribute in a well-equipped environment—something I have lacked thus far.
