Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of retail operations, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth store operations, meeting sales targets, maintaining inventory, and leading a motivated team.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and lead day-to-day store operations, ensuring efficient and customer-centric service delivery.
• Greet and interact with clients, ensuring a welcoming and personalized shopping experience.
• Implement sales-boosting techniques to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Coordinate the introduction of new products to the staff and ensure thorough product knowledge.
• Manage cash till operations, including daily reporting and reconciliation.
• Oversee and coordinate order fulfillment across various categories.
• Receive, inspect, and manage store inventory, including the return of overstocked or defective merchandise.
• Maintain an updated Best Before Expiry sheet for perishable items.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal partners, such as warehouses and e-commerce teams.
• Monitor equipment functionality and temperature controls on a daily basis.
• Conduct periodic performance evaluations of staff, provide regular feedback, and facilitate their training and development.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare financial reports.
• Oversee maintenance of stock displays, signs, and inventory to ensure a well-organized store environment.
• Perform regular inventory checks to identify and address theft and shrinkage issues.
• Collaborate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for efficient and safe store operations.
• Address customer complaints promptly and escalate when necessary.
• Represent the organization in various community and business meetings.
• Ensure monthly and annual sales targets are met through effective strategies and team motivation.
• Maintain a list of requested new items from clients and communicate with management about unmet demands.
• Coordinate with HR to create staff rosters and ensure smooth work allocation.
• Assist with miscellaneous duties as needed, including cashier responsibilities and taking on-call orders.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager in the retail industry, preferably within superstores or grocery retail.
• In-depth knowledge of natural fruits and vegetables, grocery items, and imported products.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing and developing teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with customers, staff, and Management.
• Ethical and principled approach to retail operations and customer interactions.
• Results-driven mindset with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent time management skills.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Bachelors degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is preferred.
