Position : Network Support Engineer
In the Begger Mega Construction Projects across the Sub-Sahara Africa, the Company Network Engineers will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of an organisation to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.
Maintaining the systems that allow organisations to function and communicate, both internally and externally, on a daily basis. Depending on your level of responsibility, tasks may include upgrading the company’s communications infrastructure or installing a new system. Specific projects will vary depending on the sector and type of business you work for. For example, in a call centre you might install a new call handling system, whereas for a bank you could be providing an improved ATM network.
Required profile for job ad : Network Support Engineer
The typical daily tasks of a network support engineer include:
Installing new software .Installing new hardware servers, printers, computer workstations, etc. .
Setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords
Overseeing security of all systems, especially the internet, and installing antivirus protection
Fixing network faults
Network maintenance
Technical support for people using the network
Training staff on new systems
Day to day admin and monitoring of network use
Planning future improvements, suggesting IT solutions to business problems
Making sure all IT meets industry standards
Supervising helpdesk staff If you choose to work for a large company, it’s likely you’ll have a designated area of the network
Holding a degree and having a technical background will be required to gain a Network Engineer role. Degrees in the following subjects can be included:
Computer science
Computer software/computer systems engineering
Computer systems and networks
Electrical/electronic engineering
Mathematics
Network security management
Physics
