VICE CHANCELLOR REQUIRED FOR UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES (UHS), LAHORE
Government of the Punjab, Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department is looking for a qualified and experienced Medical Education professional for the position of Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore.
The university is acclaimed as Center of Excellence and is amongst the best seats of learning in the field of Medical Education throughout the World.
The candidate should possess the following attributes:
O Distinguished reputation as Scholar and academician in medical field, having exposure to international best practices with respect to academic functions both in classroom teaching and research (clinical and non-clinical).
Experience in managing high level Medical Education Institutions will be preferred.
Capability and experience in resource mobilization.
Leadership qualities for policy making in relation to efficient and
effective management of all affairs of the University. Eligibility Criteria: i. A person who is eligible and who is not more than sixty five
years of age on the last date fixed for submission of
applications for the post of Vice Chancellor may apply for the post
The candidate is MBBS or holds equivalent qualification;
iii. He/she holds additional recognized qualification in clinical
subjects or in basic medical sciences as prescribed
in the HEC / PM&DC Regulations and notified by the Government.
iv. He/she has experience of undergraduate and postgraduate Regulations medical teaching.
He/she has experience of administrative and financial management;
i. He/she has published at least eight quality research publications in the Indexed Medical Journals recognized by the Higher Education Commission and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council; and
vii. He / she is or has been or is qualified to be a professor in a university, a medical college or a institute.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Tenure: Shall hold the office during the pleasure of Chancellor / Governor for a term not exceeding four years.
Pay & other perquisites, allowance: The post shall be totally non-practicing.
The pay package and other allowances are subject to the approval of Standing Committee of the Cabinet on Finance & Development.
